The Carpet Tile Installation Process
Carpet Tile installation is best left to a professional who has the specialty tools and necessary experience to use them correctly. In addition, a professional installer knows how to choose the right carpet padding to ensure a quality installation. In almost all cases, a pro will save you money!
What to expect
We will coordinate everything, including sending out an estimator to measure rooms. In addition, you can expect our installers to move heavy furniture, remove trim and floor molding, and prep the subfloor for installation. In most cases, the installer will also remove and dispose of existing wall-to-wall carpet and padding.
Before installation
Before installation, there are a few steps you can take to make process go smoothly:
- Complete any other remodeling projects (wall painting, window treatments, etc.) before installing new carpet.
- The installation crew will move large pieces of furniture, but you’ll need to move small items like lamps, TVs, and anything breakable.
- Remove or secure wiring and cables from TVs and other electronic equipment.
- Vacuum the old carpet to cut down on airborne dust and dirt.
- Vacuum the subfloor after the old carpet and padding are removed.
After Installation
It’s a good idea to provide an adequate supply of fresh air during and immediately after installation. Open windows and doors, if possible, or use an exhaust fan to circulate air. You can also operate the fan of your heating or air conditioning system. This step will help eliminate that new carpet smell.
After installation, you may notice loose carpet fibers. This is perfectly normal and will subside with regular vacuuming.
